On February 27, 2012 I sadly – reluctantly – begrudgingly – regrettably – unhappily - (ya think I might not have wanted to leave ?? LOL) left Yuma, Arizona to start my trek as far East in Canada as one can go. Yup, ‘Cause that’s where I actually ‘live’.
Despite the fact that I’m only really at the half way mark, I have already driven 3,550 Miles / 5,713 KMS.
I still have 1,911 Miles / 3,075 KMS to go !! G – R – O – A - N
I have consumed 600 Gallons / 2,271 Litres of gas since leaving Yuma.
For a total of $ 2,250.13 U.S. Dollars / $2300.43 Canadian Dollars. When I knew I would have to make this long trek back to the East Coast I ‘guestamated’ that I wouldn’t see any change from $5,000 in gas alone – appears I won’t be wrong on that.
I’ve paid as low as $3.50 a gallon to as high as $4.12 a gallon for regular unleaded gas.
SEND MONEY !!
You have to be a RICH BITCH just to go a mile in the Hulk !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a sunny 15 degrees in NFLD today---warmer than Vancouver---so you are headed in the right direction.
Drive safe, Lynn.
HAHAHA ... you want money? I'm laughing WITH you.
ReplyDeleteYou can look for my donation in last week's mail. lol We're saving gas money sitting here but the doctor's are more than making up for it.
ReplyDeleteMy brother told me it was in the high twenties yesterday in the Annapolis Valley! So yes, you're definitely heading in the right direction, although it might not be that toasty out on "The Rock".
ReplyDeleteSorry, no 'pity vote' here. "Going" is going to cost.
Interesting to see HOW MUCH it's going to cost though, for those who are thinking about it.
Um ya so... "The cheque is in the mail"!
Huh, high 20ies??? In NS? We were sure far from that over on this coast.
DeleteI tried to contact you yesterday via email and cell number, with no luck....call me or email me your #s...and I'll give you some money(LMAO, I'm sooooo funny)!!

ReplyDeleteI put about 25,000 miles on my truck during my trip in 2010. I didn't figure out how many I put on the trailer. I'd park and go off exploring in the truck--ah, how I wish I could go, again! The gas prices were lower when Rich and I traveled in the motorhome, and we got far less mileage per gallon, but it was still a lot less expensive than it is for you, Sassy. I remember asking him, "Rich, what will happen if gas reaches $5 per gallon? (little did I know that it would become a reality). His answer was, "There will be less traffic when we travel." And, then he smiled as only he could smile.
ReplyDeleteWe had planned for a long time to be able to travel for most of every year, and though time ran out I'm so happy we didn't wait to get the motorhomes and travel. We at least got to go for 3 months or so per year--and we'd head west. The rest of the year we ran our business, together, from our basement and planned where we would go...and dream about the future. We did do some traveling (for work) on the east coast, but the west is where we were always drawn.
What a wonderful comment ! Thank-You ! I do understand what you are saying about 'not waiting'. Life is oh so short and none of us know what the future holds for us. Live for today I always say.
DeleteThe West is where I love also and I will do everything within my power to be able to go back there again next year.

DeleteWe had a cost of 3200 bucks from NB to CA and back. Around 7000 miles round-trip ticket. It's cheaper to go with those flying metal tubes to Europe!
ReplyDeletePffffttt !! To you all !! LOL I see I'm not gonna get any pity (or MONEY )from any of you !! hahaha
ReplyDeleteIt is what it is and I will continue to do this for as long as I can.
